    In Real Time

An extended version of the original intro/theme I wrote for 1up.com’s podcast Active Time Babble. The whole thing is an homage to classic Final Fantasy battle themes, including its own little victory theme. Spot the references!

    At Night

Wandering slowly through the dark, memories begin to come back to me one at a time. My feet had traced these steps years ago. As had many others’. A car rushes by and I realize the enormity of the city, even at night.

    Backseat Driver

Taking a bit more liberty with the noise channel for some fun percussion effects, I wrote this ‘tune as the setting for a fun adventure with brief interludes of off-beat chaos. The track loops, but also has a ‘game over’ jingle tagged onto the end.

    Iron Depths

An older piece that I resurrected from obscurity with a new synth backing and rhythm tracks. Done in the style of a Sakuraba-esque dungeon theme. More details here.

    Along the Road

It is a flawless day for the adventurers as they set out into the noon day. Several younger members of the party run ahead in weaving paths as the elders stay near the wagon, its wheels creaking softly as it goes.

    Fox Through the Rapids

A fox finds himself one day encountering a rapid torrent of water, becoming overwhelmed and entering the wild river despite his attempts to stay away. It is almost as if he is being drawn in.

    Argonne Forest, 1918

A track written for the PC strategy game The Operational Art of War III, for battles taking place during World War I. I chose the battle of Argonne Forest as an inspiration for framing the music, writing two distinct sections and tying them together.

    African Groove

A very simple little rhythmic pattern that duets a kora and marimba while djembe and drums fill out the percussion. Could possibly be used as menu music.

    Corrigan’s Wail

Faced with a nearly endless series of caverns and passageways, the adventurers pause and listen to a delicate yet strained siren song coming from the heart of the cave.
